Safe listening and important information

Not medical advice. Chill Machine and Dormis make background audio for relaxation, sleep and focus. Our tracks and the players on this site are not medical devices and are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any condition. If you have concerns about sleep, hearing, tinnitus, attention, anxiety, trauma or your baby's health, please speak to a GP, health visitor, audiologist or other qualified professional.

Keep the volume low

Background noise works best quietly. A good rule is to set it so you can still hold a normal conversation over it. Long listening at high volume can damage hearing, especially through headphones. If you notice ringing, muffled hearing or discomfort after listening, turn it down or stop.

Babies and young children

Tinnitus

Some people use soft background sound to make tinnitus less noticeable. That is a personal preference, not a treatment. If you have new, one-sided or pulsing tinnitus, or tinnitus with hearing loss or dizziness, see your GP. The British Tinnitus Association has reliable information.

Focus, attention and ADHD

Many people say steady noise helps them concentrate, but everyone responds differently, and noise is not a treatment for ADHD or any other condition.

Dormis bilateral audio

Dormis makes bilateral (left-right) focus and relaxation audio for self-guided listening. It is not EMDR therapy, which is delivered by trained practitioners. It is not a substitute for professional care. Stop listening if it feels overwhelming.

Driving and machinery

Do not listen to sleep audio while driving or doing anything that needs your full attention.
